Common Queries

  • Fabric & Paper Quality

We use 100% Linen and GOTS Organic cotton only in our fabric products. We strive to work to use the best for our environment and meet trade standards for interior products. As a natural cloth it is normal to find that there may be some irregularities within the cloth, so bear this in mind.

Our Wallpaper is printed on Eco-Smooth uncoated paper, which is made of a mix of cellulose pulp and recycled Polyester from plastic bottles. It has more of a dry/matte finish.

  • Shipping

For all items we use Royal Mail’s 1st class tracked service or Hermes. As items are made to order, we will provide tracking only after the shipment has left our studio. For international orders please allow around 2 weeks or 10 working days once you receive a dispatch email from us.

  • Printing to Order

In order to reduce fabric waste, we print all our fabric to order. The current lead times on this are 3 weeks for UK and 4-5 on international orders. We will keep you updated as regularly as we can. Let us know if you require something sooner we can try our best to reach your deadline or help advise.

Should you need another base cloth in our prints we will be happy to work to any requirements you have.

  • Martindale/Rub count

Our Linen is rated 30,000 rubs and our cotton is 40,000 rubs. See below:

20,000 - 25,000: General domestic use - Suitable for everyday use on main house furniture.

25,000 - 30,000: Heavy domestic use - Suitable for high levels of everyday use and light commercial use.

30,000 or more: Commercial grade - can be used on heavy duty furniture and would be suitable for any commercial environment.

  • Partnerships

We are always on the look out for ways to improve our sustainable practices more than just using organic and sustainable cloth and packaging. For every purchase we donate 5% of each sale to Rewilding Britain - A registered charity whose aim is to return large parts of the UK back to its natural state and encouraging the return of wildlife. For more information, please visit www.rewildingbritain.org.uk for more information.

  • Returns

Please note that we are unable to accept returns on cut lengths of fabric unless faulty. We recommend that you order a swatch before ordering your full meterage. On receipt, please check that the fabric delivered is what you have ordered and free of faults. If you would like to return, please notify us within 14 days with clear images of any faults. We believe small irregularities give the fabric character, and is a normal occurrence when printing with natural fibres. Therefore we can only process faults larger than 1cm in size. For Wallpaper, no claims for hanging costs for goods hung one excess of 1 roll.

  • Bring back

In order to reduce textile waste we offer a bring back service where we will cover the cost of return shipping of any used and unwanted Lowri cloth that it is still in good condition. We will find ways to reuse, repurpose and recycle the cloth and bring life into it again! Get in touch for more information.

  • Location

Our fabrics and wallpapers are painted and designed in our studio in London. Everything is printed in the UK and we manufacture all our products locally in London. All packaging is also from UK, as are our stocked cushion pads.

  • Wallpaper Hanging & Care

We recommend you use a skilled decorator when starting your wallpaper project, but if you are going for DIY, there are more detailed hanging instructions on the product page or on each individual roll label we send.

Our wallpaper is non-coated so we recommend wiping gently with a clean sponge after application. Our wallpapers are all paste the paper wall products.

  • FR Treatment

Unfortunately our cloth is not inherently FR resistant as this requires chemicals and we choose to only use natural materials and processes. However, if you are hoping to FR proof the cloth for commercial upholstery, there are many third party options available and FR cloth interliners that can be added when constructing your upholstered product. Any damaged caused by this treatment that affects the handle or colour of our cloth will deem it to not be returnable by us, so we would recommend testing the cloth first with any new fabric or new treatment.

  • Fabric Care

To preserve the longevity of your fabric we recommend that you either dry-clean or wash fabrics using a delicate wash at 30 degrees celcius. We recommend not using fabric conditioners or bleach and use a low spin on your washing machine. Do not tumble dry the fabrics. It is also best to iron your fabric whilst it is damp.

It is the nature of printed natural fabrics to slowly fade eventually. To ensure that your fabrics last as long as they should, we recommend that upholstery fabrics should be kept out of direct sunlight if possible, and that curtains are ideally lined with a black out liner, this will increase colour longevity and screen out light.

  • Return Shipping and Refunds

If the item returned meets our returns policy, you will be credited the amount minus any shipping costs to the original payment method you used. If you are a trade account holder, and you wish for this to be added as credit against your account please discuss this with us on a case-by-case basis. Return delivery costs are the responsibility of the buyer. Returned goods must be delivered to us unused, in original packaging and in the condition they were received. We cannot be held responsible for items damaged or lost in return delivery, therefore we recommend an insured and trackable mail service.
